Health and Mental Wellbeing Project

Staff from each of our schools have completed the Health and Mental Wellbeing Project through Yoga and Meditation. They completed the training (trained by a qualified Yoga and Meditation Instructor) and delivered a supported 6 week training block to a group of selected students. They attended the training after school (8 weeks) and then delivered the Yoga sessions in their own time during Lunchtime or after school.

We are looking forward to being able to offer this as a club once we return to school. This will help students to secure clear relaxation and stress relief strategies through physical activity. Students can use these strategies to enhance wellbeing.

Home Learning Art Work

Coleridge, Parkside and Trumpington students have been creating some fantastic Artwork during this period of home learning. We are really impressed with their hard work!

Year 8 students are studying carnival in Create. Teacher of Art at Parkside, Ms Matine, received these amazing pictures of one of her student’s work.

Mr Dempsey, Teacher of Art at Trumpington, has been receiving some great work from Year 8 students who are studying Carnival this term. They have been focusing on the Day of the Dead festival.

Mrs Millen, teacher of Art at Coleridge, ran an Easter challenge to design an egg inspired by an artist. Here are some of the winners from Year 7,8 and 9 students. Well done to everyone who entered.

Mr Dempsey, Teacher of Art at Trumpington, has been receiving some great observation drawings and artist research from Year 9 students.

Who we are

Trumpington Community College is a relatively new state of the art 11-16 secondary school in the City of Cambridge.

The school has excellent teaching resources and sports facilities. We are also fortunate in having a passionate and dedicated team of experienced teachers and support staff: we strive to bring out the best in everyone. We work closely with United Learning Cambridge Cluster – a partnership of community schools which aspire to be local lifelong learning centres of excellence – and United Learning Trust.

We encourage all our students to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities each week including sport, the arts, languages, STEM and charity work.
